As you’re deep scrubbing your kitchen and purging your closet think, what parts of your agency need some tidying up? Winter is over and second quarter is fast approaching, now is the time to reflect on what your agency has accomplished so far this year.

  • Are you meeting the goals you set last year?
  • Are you anywhere close to being on track for those goals?
  • Do you need to adjust the reality of those goals?

These are important questions to ask yourself. You set those goals for a reason, but if they’re unattainable, then you need to readjust them. You don’t want the lack of accomplishment to diminish the momentum of your team or their enthusiasm. Lofty goals are excellent, but if they’re too high, it can cause your team to feel downtrodden, which could be even more detrimental to your progress.

If you’re a little off track, what things can you do to help boost your agency so you can meet your goals? Spring is the best time to make these decisions because the sun is shining, we’re no longer under the cloud of winter’s misery, and open enrollment is over. Take a fresh look at your goals and current standing, then evaluate.

As you’re evaluating, look at what sections of your process are lagging. Finding the holes in your system could benefit your process and increase your agency’s progress. What are some things you could do to propel those slower parts? One big thing you could do is upgrade your technology to an agency management system (AMS) or a customer relationship management system (CRM).

AgencyBloc can simplify your commissions processing

If your commissions are dragging down your productivity, upgrading your technology might be one of your best bets.  You can save up to 40% of your time if you upgrade from Excel sheets to an AMS/CRM. Think of all the goals you could accomplish if you had 40% of your time back. That could be the difference between achieving your goals (possibly surpassing them), and being just shy of reaching them. Commissions aren’t something your agency can delete from its system, you have it to have it, so why not make it an easier process that takes less time.

Another part of commission processing to consider is the state of your data. We often talk about the importance of keeping your data up-to-date, but we understand that that can be especially difficult at times. Open enrollment bombards your agency and keeping up on your data can easily fall by the wayside. Now’s the time to make up for that. Open enrollment is done, and you’ve had some time to breathe and catch up, this is the perfect time to ensure that all of your data is up-to-date and accurate.

Keeping your data accurate is critical if you’re considering upgrading to an AMS or CRM. Even if you’re not upgrading, it’s crucial for your agency to keep up on its data. You’ll be more productive in your processes, and more confident in your agency’s standing. We all want our business to grow into the future, keeping your data and information accurate will help you plan for your future and help you decide when the best time is to take the big steps.
