4 Technologies to Help Organize Your Agency

Technology to organize your insurance agency

Running an agency is hard work, especially if you don't have an administrative person or other staff to help you out. The good news is that there is plenty of technology out there to help you out. Let's take a look at some that agencies can utilize:

  1. Google Keep. This is a super simple way to keep a to-do list. I use it for both work and at home because I can access it anywhere. It's a good way to keep track of random ideas that pop into your head, but I don't recommend it for handling your daily activities.
  2. Grammarly. This is a really great tool for quickly checking that your emails or whatever else you're writing is free of spelling or grammatical errors. Personally, I copy & paste almost everything I write into Grammarly. Couldn't be easier! The free version checks things on a basic spelling, punctuation and simple grammar level, but you can upgrade to the paid version to have it help you with sentence structure and more. The cool thing about Grammarly is that you can install the plug-in into your browser, and it will automatically check whatever you're typing wherever you enable it.
  3. Trello. I bring this one up because I think agencies should be getting into blogging and creating content, and Trello is a great way to organize those content plans. We use it to organize our blog, ebook and infographic ideas, and we're able to move the content topic from idea to researching to writing to completed and posted. It's a simple way to see the flow of your content or any other project you'd like to track.
  4. Agency management system. When it comes to creating and maintaining an organized agency, an agency management system is a must. It helps you manage every single interaction you have with your clients and prospects, and it encourages follow-ups and automating some of your messages to clients and prospects. So not only does it help you organize, it saves you time by tackling some of your day-to-day activities automatically. 

As we enter open enrollment time, we know you're going to be busier than ever. But, it's never too late to get on the right track with organizing your agency. Start thinking about ways you can utilize the technologies above to make your life easier! You'll thank yourself for it later!
