Kelsey's Interview

It's my turn to share my own thoughts and feelings on work culture. I am a part of the fun, creative marketing team at AgencyBloc. I am part of a team that is always trying to communicate the awesome benefits of using AgencyBloc while also bringing relevant content to our audience. Here's what I have to say about company culture:

When I say culture, what do you think of?

I think of how well everyone works together, and I think of the cohesiveness between coworkers. I’m a recent grad, so I’ve taken many classes that cover work culture. They talk a lot about how people at the top of an organization set the tone for work culture for the rest of the company. I definitely agree with this.

What does a company’s work culture entail?

A company’s work culture includes expected behaviors, shared passions and building relationships with your coworkers. Work culture is usually very apparent to new workers coming into the situation, whether it’s a good work culture or a not-so-good work culture.

I also think a work culture includes learning. It’s very important to me to surround myself with people who have experience in the things I want to do so that I can learn from them. I think that any good work culture encourages this kind of growth and learning.

What does a good work culture mean to you?

I think good work culture is created in places that inspire employees, encourage continuous learning and foster coworker relationships. A good work culture allows employees to feel trusted and important to the company which inspires them to do their best work.

This was a somewhat difficult question for me to answer because I haven’t been exposed to the “real world” for that long. However, I find that it’s easy for me to identify that AgencyBloc has a good work culture based on the overall attitude of the group when I walk into work every morning. Everyone feels important and feels that they contribute to company goals. Everyone likes being there together and hearing about what each different group is working on.

What is your favorite thing about going to work?

My favorite thing about going to work is never knowing what exactly will come next. By this, I mean that our company is growing quickly and so we are always on our toes doing new things. I really enjoy working with my coworkers to make awesome things happen.

What is the most memorable moment thus far that has happened at AB?

I think the most memorable moment for me thus far since starting at AB is when we broke our first goal for most web leads. It feels really good to be a part of a team who really cares about hitting these goals. It’s been a big step for us creating relevant content that our audience will appreciate and, in turn, will want to know what AgencyBloc is all about.

So, what do you think?

What do you think makes a great work culture? What makes you like coming to work every day? Let us know in the comments!
