The Iowa Gardening for Good Project
On a sweltering day in the heat of September, part of the AgencyBloc team donned their special AgencyBloc VTO shirts and headed out to the fields. Members of the product (Jen, Ashley, & Ani) and marketing teams (Allison) spent a sticky day picking a ton (literally!) of cucumbers and eggplants.
The cause: The Iowa Gardening for Good Project focuses on involving people in growing things of value for a good cause. Partnering with the Food Bank of Iowa and other local food pantries, this 20-acre farm helps supply fresh produce to hundreds of thousands of people every single year.

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank
Towards the beginning of October, members of the sales (Kellie), client success (Degin, Tasha, & Molly), and marketing teams (Mike, Sara, & Kelsey) headed to the local food bank (Northeast Iowa Food Bank) to help out. They spent the day bagging potatoes (pulling from a large, pallet-sized bag of potatoes!) and sorting out bread and dessert donations from local companies.
The cause: Serving 16 counties, the Northeast Iowa Food Bank provides nutritious food to 5,800 different people weekly through a far-reaching network of over 200 food pantries, soup kitchens, schools, churches, and nonprofit groups.

Habitat for Humanity's Rock the Block®
Dodging October rain drops and stepping over puddles of mud, the AgencyBloc team was at it again—this time with the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. The team of product (Becky, Dave, & Cory) and marketing members (Allison) taped, mudded, sanded, and hung drywall on the ceiling to complete a dirty and dusty project. They were one small part of a huge group that worked at multiple homes all over the north side of Des Moines.
The cause: Serving families in both Polk and Dallas counties, Rock the Block® provides a path for homeowners, organizations, volunteers, and Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to come together to assist low-income residents with needed repair, maintenance, weatherization, safety, accessibility, and beautification of homes.
The ASPIRE Therapeutic Riding Program
Adding layers to their VTO shirts, this AgencyBloc team faced November's blustery winds and chilly temperature to give back to another worthy cause. Members of the marketing (Erica & Allison) and client success teams (Tori & Gary) mucked out stables, filled water pails, cleaned up fallen limbs, and put away supplies for the winter.
The cause: The ASPIRE Therapeutic Riding Program (TRP) improves the quality of life of those they serve. Their primary clients are individuals with disabilities who benefit physically, emotionally, and cognitively through animal-assisted activities, primarily through interaction with horses.
